Community guidelines
Melos is a place to write and share poetry. When you publish to the gallery, enter the leaderboard, or invite someone to a duet, other people see your words. These guidelines keep that shared space safe. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive users.
What's welcome
- Original poems — yours, or composed with Melos's AI assistance.
- Honest, varied voices, including difficult and dark themes handled with care.
- Generous reading: grade thoughtfully, duet kindly.
Not allowed in published or shared content
- Harassment, bullying, or threats toward any person or group.
- Hate speech that attacks or demeans people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar.
- Sexual content involving minors — never, under any circumstances.
- Pornographic or gratuitously explicit sexual content.
- Incitement to violence or promotion of self-harm.
- Verbatim copyrighted text you don't have the right to publish, or passing another poet's work off as your own.
- Impersonation of a real person, or claiming AI output imitates a named living artist's style.
- Spam, scams, or off-topic promotion.
Private drafts are yours. These rules apply to what you publish or share with others (gallery, leaderboard, duets, poem cards).
AI-assisted writing
Melos helps you compose. Generated poems are AI-assisted and must not claim to reproduce or imitate a specific named artist. You're responsible for what you choose to publish.
Reporting and blocking
- Report any published poem that breaks these guidelines — it goes to moderation triage.
- Block any poet — you won't see each other's poems or profiles, and you can't be drawn into a duet together.
- Upheld reports result in the content being removed from the gallery.
Enforcement
Published content passes a safety check before it reaches anyone — the gate fails closed, so if safety can't run, the poem isn't published. Violations may lead to content removal and, for repeat or severe abuse, account action. Crisis-related content is handled with care, not punishment: your words are kept and support resources are surfaced.
Eligibility
Melos is for people 13 and older.
